Primary School Design and Technology Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Cambridge Academy Ethiopia (CAE) is an international school in the beautiful Ethiopian city of Addis
Ababa. The school aims to provide students with an international experience that is unique, not just in
Addis Ababa but across Ethiopia. We draw upon the best aspects of the British curriculum and blend it
with modern, theme-based, experiential learning all whilst meeting our local community needs.
Hence, CAE would like to recruit a candidate for the below maternity cover open position.
Position: Primary School Design and Technology Teacher (Maternity Cover)
Desired Start Date: March 6, 2023
Application deadline: Until February 12, 2023(Midnight)
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
To carry out the professional duties of a subject teacher, in accordance with the school’s policies, under
the direction of the Head of Primary, while reporting directly to the Key Stage Leader. Professional
responsibilities include:
 Plan curriculum and lessons that align with the National Curriculum of England standards for
Design and Technology.
 Deliver lessons that demonstrate good teaching practices.
 Provide pastoral care for students inside and outside the classroom.
 Assess and record student work, providing feedback.
 Communicate with parents through reports and notes home as to the child’s progress.
 Take part in self-evaluations of teaching practice to grow as a practitioner.
Expected Education Level: 
 1st degree in Architecture (preferred) or Engineering
 Teaching license or certification a plus
Experience in Years: At least one year experience teaching in Primary school
Skills:  Design skills, including graphical design and Software Skills
Attributes: We are looking for a collaborative individual who is able to work with a team to plan and
deliver a curriculum that aligns with Year level standards. A CAE primary teacher is passionate about
student success and creative in using available resources.
