Practical Information
School Uniform
At Cambridge Academy Ethiopia, we believe that wearing a school uniform is an important part of creating a respectful, inclusive, and focused learning environment. All students are expected to attend school in the designated uniform, which reflects our values of unity, equality, and pride in belonging to our school community.
School uniforms help foster a strong sense of identity and community. When students wear the same attire, it promotes equality, reduces social pressures, and encourages a sense of shared purpose. Uniforms can be especially supportive for new students, helping them to feel a part of the school from the very first day.
Uniforms also contribute to a positive and respectful school culture. By removing distractions and minimising comparisons based on clothing, they help reduce instances of bullying and promote inclusion. This allows students to focus more on their learning and personal development, rather than on appearance or fashion trends.
Additionally, the school uniform supports a professional and academic atmosphere. When students dress with purpose, they are more likely to approach their studies with seriousness and respect. A consistent dress code reinforces discipline, helps students prepare for future professional settings, and contributes to higher levels of engagement and academic performance.
At Cambridge Academy Ethiopia, we see our uniform not just as clothing, but as a symbol of our collective identity, values, and high standards.
School Transport
At Cambridge Academy Ethiopia, we are committed to providing a safe, reliable, and convenient transport service that supports both our families and our mission of delivering excellence in education.
We recognise that dependable transportation is a vital part of a successful school experience. Our dedicated transport service ensures that students arrive at school and return home safely, comfortably, and on time. This allows families to enjoy peace of mind and helps students begin and end their day in a calm and secure environment.
Our fleet of school buses is well-maintained, clean, and equipped with modern safety features, including seat belts and GPS tracking. Each vehicle is operated by professionally trained, experienced drivers who prioritise student safety and are supported by attentive transport staff.
Beyond safety, our transport service also helps build punctuality, independence, and routine—important values that contribute to academic success and personal growth. Whether your family lives nearby or in surrounding areas, our transport routes are designed to accommodate a variety of locations, making the school day more accessible for everyone.
At Cambridge Academy Ethiopia, school transport is more than just a convenience—it’s an integral part of our commitment to student well-being, access, and community care.

Other Fees
When joining Cambridge Academy Ethiopia, families should also be aware of additional fees. A $150 application fee is due at the time of submitting an application. This is refundable only if a place is not offered. Once an offer is accepted, a registration deposit of $300 is required to secure the student’s place; this deposit is non-refundable.
Each year, returning students pay a re-registration deposit of $250 to guarantee their place for the following academic year. In addition, the school charges a capital levy to support investment in our facilities. The amount depends on the year of enrolment, ranging from $500 to $1,800 for new students and $250 to $500 for students already enrolled before 2025–26.
Payment of Fees
For returning students, the first term’s tuition must be settled at least two weeks before the start of term, and all registration and levy fees for the following year must be paid before the current school year ends. For new students, all required fees – including application, registration, capital levy, and the first term’s tuition – must be paid prior to the student’s first day at school.
In subsequent terms, tuition must always be paid two weeks before the start of term. Company-sponsored students are required to have the full year’s tuition settled in advance. International students pay in convertible currencies (USD, EUR or GBP), while Ethiopian students pay in Birr with a small portion in USD ($500–$750 depending on year of enrolment).
Discounts
Cambridge Academy Ethiopia offers fee reductions to support families. A sibling discount applies to tuition fees: 5% for a second child, 10% for a third, and 15% for a fourth child. In addition, parents who pay the full annual tuition before the start of the school year receive an early payment discount of 5%. These discounts apply to tuition fees only.
Part-Year Registration
Families joining mid-year will find our approach to fees proportionate. Students enrolling during the first half of a term are liable for the full tuition for that term, while those joining in the second half pay a pro-rated amount. The capital levy is also adjusted: full levy for Term 1 entrants, two-thirds for Term 2, and one-third for Term 3.
Refunds
While registration and re-registration deposits are non-refundable, tuition refunds are possible under certain circumstances. If a student withdraws before the academic year begins, all tuition paid is refunded minus the deposit. For students already enrolled: up to two weeks’ attendance results in one month’s deduction, up to one month’s attendance results in two months’ deduction, and attendance beyond one month requires full payment of the term’s fees. Refunds are calculated from the official date of withdrawal request.
Non-Payment of Fees
In the case of late or non-payment, Cambridge Academy Ethiopia follows a clear policy. If fees remain unpaid six weeks after their due date, students may not attend classes or participate in school events until balances are cleared. Report cards, transfer certificates, and re-registration may also be withheld, although students are never prevented from sitting exams.
We recognise that unforeseen circumstances may create hardship, and families may formally request a payment plan through our finance office. Such requests are considered individually by the school board.
Catering
At Cambridge Academy Ethiopia, we believe that nutritious, well-balanced meals play a vital role in supporting students’ academic performance, physical health, and overall well-being. Our catering service is carefully designed to offer delicious, wholesome meals that meet the highest standards of nutrition, quality, and sustainability.
We prioritise fresh, locally sourced ingredients and aim to serve a variety of balanced meals that provide the energy and nourishment students need to focus and thrive throughout the day. Our menus feature whole foods, seasonal fruits, vegetables, and healthy options that appeal to a range of tastes and dietary needs.
Beyond nutrition, we are deeply committed to sustainability and social responsibility. We embrace eco-conscious practices such as reducing food waste, sourcing organic produce where possible, and supporting local farmers. Our catering team is mindful of the environmental impact of our food choices and continuously works to minimise waste through recycling and composting initiatives.
Our dining service also reflects the diversity of our school community. We celebrate cultural variety through inclusive menus that recognise and respect the dietary traditions and preferences of our students. Mealtimes are more than just a break—they are a chance to connect, share, and build community in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
At Cambridge Academy Ethiopia, our catering program is more than just a meal service—it is a key part of our holistic approach to education. We are proud to provide our students with food that fuels their growth, supports their health, and brings our school community together.

Integrating Facilities with Learning
Our outdoor and performing arts facilities are fully integrated into the daily life of the school and the broader curriculum. They are not simply add-ons—they are essential tools in our mission to educate the whole child.
Students participate in regular PE and Performing Arts classes in these spaces, helping them stay active, build confidence, and develop a wide range of skills.
Our after-school programs and extracurricular clubs make full use of the facilities to offer sports teams, swimming instruction, theatre productions, and more.
Outdoor spaces also support social-emotional learning, mindfulness practices, and informal student gatherings, contributing to a strong sense of community and overall well-being.
